Roman P. Reyes – Lord of the Rings and Art interview at ALAC

Anexandros interviews Roman P. Reyes, a Phoenix-area artist who worked as a creature and prosthetics technician with WETA Workshop in New Zealand with the Lord of the Rings films. Reyes work can be found internationally. He is a Professor Emeritus at Phoenix College.

Reyes was the Artist-in-residence at Charleville Castle, Ireland and his work has been on display at the ​White House.

In the interview, Roman discusses his work on the masks, feet, ears, body suits on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. In this interview, he reminisces about working on location in New Zealand and described the process for making multiple masks for the wide variety of actors from the films.
He also worked on “Snot,” “Blood” and “Mud.”
