Happy Mother’s Day Carrie Fisher

For many Carrie was the mother dreams are made of but her daughter Catherine received the motherly attention. Carrie has been typecast for her portrayal of Princess Leia in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and Star Wars but many forget some of her other movies. The Aristocrats, Undiscovered, Stateside, Wonderland, A Midsummer Night’s Ravem , Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Lisa Picard is Famous, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, This is My Life, Drop Dead Fred, Soapdish, Sibling Rivalry, Sweet Revenge, The Burbs, Loverboy, The Time Guardian, When Harry Met Sally, Appointment with Death, She’s Back, Amazon Women on the Moon, From Here to Maternity, Hannah and Her Sisters, Hollywood Vice Squad, The Man With One Red Shoe, Frankenstein, Garbo Talks, The Groove Tube, Under the Rainbow, Shampoo, Mr. Mike’s Mondo Video and the modern slapstick The Blues Brothers.

Her mother was Debbie Reynolds, who is also a well-known star.

Reynolds & Children

Debbie Reynolds’ most memorable performance was in Singin’ in the Rain where she acted opposite Gene Kelly.

She was also the lead role in The Unsinkable Molly Brown which she received an Academy Award nomination. She continued to act sporadically for more than 40 more years, in film and on stage and TV.

With this mountain of movies I don’t think Carrie will soon stop acting. We all wish Carrie a Happy Mother’s Day and May the Force be with her!
